OK guys, so a girl who used to like me back in middle school and she now works at a restaurant that my dad owns. Now my uncle works there to and told me she asked about me, this was about a month ago. So today I had to get something from my uncle so I went to the restaurant and she's the first person I see and she immediately says hey and gives me. A nice big hug. So we catch up for a bit and I used to work at the same restaurant and she's like yeah u should come back and work again it'd be so much fun.
Then she mentioned how she was "in love" with me 7th grade and how
she had a huge crush on me. Then I was like "yeah damn I remember that I blew my chance ha-ha". Then she was like yeah, LOL. So I kinda see that as her saying yea I blew my chance and she's not interested now. (Were both 19 BTW). But she might have just been agreeing and laughing at the joke. Then when I had to go she seamed bummed and was wanting me to come back later.
The only thing that discourages me is once I found out she was working at my dads restaurant I sent her a message on Facebook and she never replied. And also I was looking at her wall and she has some statuses that imply she might be interested in someone already or has a boyfriend.
Be more straightforward.
"Listen, I was serious about blowing my chance in 7th grade. I'm interested now, if that's any good. I don't want to miss out again by guessing. Can I have your number? Will you go out with me some time? If you just want to be good friends, I'll deal with that, too, but I'm not going to let a good chance slip by again. I know, I should have asked the other day - I'm still kind of shy, and I don't want to be that way with you, however we wind up."
Of course, you'll want to reword this for your own use - but take it from a guy who's done it both ways a lot of times: you'll regret the times you "didn't" tell her, the times you "didn't" ask, far more than the times you got turned down.
Best of all, once in a while, she says "yes", and all those "no thanks" responses become very welcome rehearsals. I still remember the first time I kicked myself in the behind, went back, and said "I should have asked you out the first time I was here. Do you want to go to the movie tonight?" She spent 3 hours inside my arm (we sat through both showings) and we dated until she left for a year overseas.
